Everyone knows that in order to see success on social media you have to be familiarized with Social Media Algorithms. Once you know the algorithms then you can work your marketing magic to satisfy both the algorithm and the human attraction.
We know that due to Tik Tok's new found popularity Instagram prioritizes Reels over pictures and IG TV. We also know that videos less than 15 seconds perform best when coupled with trending sounds. This is a good place to start giving your account some exposure. Later on you can add little bit longer videos and still see good engagement. But what happens then.. engagement is great but we want our audience to take action. So instead of just posting engaging content we also need to tag a CTA to every reel we post. Ideally at the end of the reel with a short message inviting them to take action.
Tik Tok differs from most social media platforms. In order for your content to reach a large number of audience and appear on the "For You Page" It tracks the watch time or number of times you rewatch the video. This is more important to Tik Tok than likes, comments and shares. So the short, less than 15 second videos you use on your IG Reels would work well here as well as long as it's entertaining enough to get the audience to replay the same video over and over. It also seems like tik tok prefers authentic, unpolished content rather than overly polished videos.
Majority of companies and especially e-commerce stores focus on high traffic. They would look at SEO options, running ads, and promote their website as much as they can to get as many people to visit their website. Which is great but if only 2% of the people that land on your page take action. Then in order to double your sales you have to double the traffic. Whereas making small tweaks for better conversion can double the number of people taking action and it's much cheaper and easier. Small tweaks could increase your sales by at least 70%, and if fully refined then it can increase by 100% and in some cases up to 300%. One big piece that most people over look is the CTA placement. Placing a CTA button at the right spot can increase your conversions by 20-30% alone. For most websites it's very important to Have a CTA visible and popping out above the fold. Which means before the visitor even has the chance to scroll down, the CTA is capturing their attention.
Getting people to engage is a lot easier than you think. It depends on what your aim is for the video and what kind of engagement you’re looking to promote in your content. The majority of the time, you have to be the one to lead your audience to take action. Interact with them and encourage them to engage.
For example, if you want to see more comments under your videos, you can use two very simple approaches. The first one is the easier and safer option: if you want them to engage, ask a question. It could be thought-provoking, or it could simply be asking for their opinion. Asking them a question opens the door for them to speak. You’re encouraging them to share what's on their mind, which in turn makes them feel like you value their opinion.
The second approach is more subtle, but it could produce both positive and negative reactions within your audience. This one is not recommended in many cases and not for all content creators. That would be to share your opinion on a controversial topic — but not just mention it… you really have to explain how you feel and what your thoughts are concerning that controversy. The more controversial your answer is, the more engagement you can expect.
Even if you feel like you’re siding with the majority, when you post that video it may make you question whether or not you really are on the majority side. The reason this is so effective is because the chances are high that much of your audience is educated on that topic to some extent, or has seen content concerning it, and they will want to express their opinion through comments. They may also share your content with friends or with someone they’ve been trying to persuade to see their side — and they are using your content to do it, assuming of course that you’ve used some interesting or persuasive points.
